Winter Wonderland Magic

Hi, and Happpppy Monday to you!  I made a card today using little mini-Fairy Gilli; I think she's adorable.  We have a *Let it Snow* challenge going over at Outlawz Greeting Cards.  So take a break from all the busy work, and join us over there; time to get in the craft room and have fun. :-)  I used a light-colored ink (desert sand) to stamp my image, and I kind of like how it comes out without the dark ink lines, for a change of pace.  I used lots of Glamour Dust on my project thanks to my friend anaRy getting me a stash of this wonderful sparkling glitter.  :)
I used MS snowflake stamps to emboss around the edge of the outer paper, as well as for the little snowflake punches.  The tree cutout was made using a cutout from Silhouette Studio.   I used Star Dust Stickles on Gilli's wings and on the snowflakes.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenge ~ Sparkles, Shines, Gleams, Glints/or Glitters

Deck the Halls

We have a Happy Holiday theme going on over at Through the Craftroom Door Blog; your project must be a holiday theme and contain at least three embellishments.  We have a wonderful sponsor this month ~ anaRy of Gilli design stamps.  I used anaRy's versatile house stamp for my project because I felt like decking it out for the Holidays.  I used white embossing powder on craft paper, hoping it would give the appearance of a gingerbread house.  I did a tiny bit of shading with Copic markers and used Stickles and Liquid Pearls on the house.  Here's a pic:
Hurry on over to Through the Craftroom Door to join in our challenge.  :)

House of Gilli ~ Challenge 21

Hi, I have the very cozy, PJ Gilli to share with you today.  It was such a rainy day yesterday in southeastern PA that I wanted to stay in my pj's all day, but couldn't, so instead I made a pajama party card. :)  I paper pieced the pj's and then added a little flower soft to them.  Gilli was colored with Copics (and the pj's shaded with them).  I cut Gilli's hair just a tad, so she'd match up a bit better with the birthday girl who's getting the card.  The only thing you need to do to enter Challenge 21 is to add flourishes to your project.  Stop on by House of Gilli   to add your card, and view the inspiration cards for this challenge.  Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you over there!   :)

Paper Temptress is our sponsor this month.  One lucky winner this month will receive a special collection worth $20.  Come join us at Outlawz!!!

Outlawz Challenge ~ Giving Thanks

Hi and Happy Monday to you!  Outlawz greeting card challenge is all about giving thanks this week.  Your card does not have to be a Thanksgiving card, but must have some sort of thank you sentiment on the front.  I used Boho Gilli  stamp to make a thank you card ~  Gilli stamps are designed by anaRy.  I colored the image with Copics, used Basic Grey Marjolaine design paper, and made little bitty earrings for her using seed beads and jewelry wire.
I hope you join us over at Outlawz, and thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

Painter Gilli is in the House

Happy Thursday to You!!!  House of Gilli Challenge #19 ~ Recycle and Texture ~  Come join us over at the House  for our exciting challenges!  This was a very fun challenge for me ~ thank you Wini!  I thought of this wooden box when thinking about recycling.  It was pushed way back on a shelf and was covered in dust.  The base was painted a colonial blue and  the lid stenciled, made during my country-style crafting phase.

I colored Painter Gilli with Copics, and my die cuts were made using my paper scrap bin.  My texture is the paint; it's hard to see in the pic, but the paint is really thick. I spattered the paint on the lid with paint stir sticks (saw a man on youtube apply it this way) and some fine spatters with a toothbrush.  I'd recommend everyone give the *Jackson Pollock* inspired paint spattering a try, it's a thrill to create. If you'd like to order an adorable Gilli stamp please email the artist anaRy at:  anary@anary.com   Thanks so much for visiting and I would love to see your creations, come join in the fun!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you over at Outlawz.

In celebration of Autumn, I'm posting a recipe for pumpkin muffins that I made last week.  They turned out very yummy despite the fact that I didn't follow the recipe.  So I'll give you the recipe I was following, but I'm changing mine to read:  add a 15 oz. can of solid-pack pumpkin because this is how much I put in accidently, and I liked how moist they turned out.  :)  Here's the recipe:

RECIPE FOR PUMPKIN MUFFINS
From Gourmet November 2006
Adapted from the American Club
Makes 1 dozen
Active time: 15 min.
Start to finish: 1 hour

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½  cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup canned solid-pack pumpkin (from a 15-oz can)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp pumpkin-pie spice
1 ¼  cups plus 1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon

Equipment: 12 foil or paper muffin liners; a muffin pan with 12 (1/2-cup) muffin cups
DIRECTIONS:
Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 350F. Put liners in muffin cups.

Whisk together flour and baking powder in a small bowl.
Whisk together pumpkin, oil, eggs, pumpkin-pie spice, 1 ¼  cups sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl until smooth, then whisk in flour mixture until just combined.
Stir together cinnamon and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar in another bowl.
Divide batter among muffin cups (each should be about 3/4 full), then sprinkle tops with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake until puffed and golden brown and a wooden pick or skewer inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool in pan on a rack 5 minutes, then transfer muffins from pan to rack and cool to warm or room temperature.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment mentioning your favorite Gilli stamp for a chance to win!
